We are now recruiting couples / pairs

Come and join our Meribel team! For the 2019-2020 ski season, we are now recruiting two chalet chefs / cooks, and two chalet hosts. These roles will be ideal for couples or pairs of close friends.

In each pair, one will be the chef/cook and the other will be the chalet host.

Fun, fulfilling and demanding

Working in chalets is great fun, fulfilling, demanding and exhausting! We love it. Being such an integral part of someone's holiday is very rewarding, and the mountains are such a wonderful place to spend a winter or summer. But it's not for everyone. Being at the coal face providing luxury catered holidays is demanding and we, like most holiday companies, expect very high standards of anyone we work with.

Pivotal to our success

The Delicious Mountain Team is pivotal to our success. We are founded on principles of exceptional service and as such the whole team is entirely responsible for the manner in which this is delivered within the Delicious Mountain chalets.

We offer more, we expect more

The package we offer our team is second to none. Just take a look at what we offer all Delicious Mountain team members. But we expect more, too. Our guests have high standards, but your own must be higher still.

Who should apply?

You will be applying as a couple or a pair of close friends. You are likely to have experience in chalets, catering / hospitality or related industries.

Come and meet us!

Are you within easy reach of Meribel? Why not come and meet us? It would be great to meet you face-to-face and find out more about what you would like to get from your time in The Alps, and how we can fit into that.

A measure of performance as a Delicious Mountain team member is through guest feedback and we pride ourselves on exceeding guest expectations. Over the last six seasons, we have been rewarded with fabulous five-star reviews which frequently mention our team members by name.

Expect a varied array of tasks each day. From greeting the guests to making fruit salad and polishing taps, you'll need to be adaptable and efficient. Each day you will be working as part of a close-knit team that rely on each other heavily - being a team player is key. Customer satisfaction and experience is of paramount importance, and you'll be integral to the success of each person's holiday - going the extra mile to make someone's day should be something that comes naturally to you. It's an exceptionally rewarding experience!

When we asked them... What sort of person makes a good Delicious Mountain team member?

You need to enjoy having exceptional attention to detail, have an approachable friendly manner and take satisfaction from keeping everything in the chalet in order. Being a bit of a perfectionist will certainly help; standards are high whether it's with the food, organisation or with cleanliness - you should take great satisfaction from nailing all your duties and be able to laugh when the inevitable happens!

You also need to be good at "reading the guest" and establishing what kind of host they want you to be. Sometimes you need to be a gentle listener that is happy to show interest and have conversations about just about anything. On other occasions you'll need to adjust to being a quiet part of the background delivering excellent service and allowing the guests to relax in their surroundings... or maybe you'll need to be the life and soul helping mixed groups to feel at ease in each others company.

Nevertheless, you should always be a happy positive person no matter what the weather: it keeps the guests, the team and yourself happy!

A structured and methodical approach to your workload in the early days will help you establish the routines that will make all parts of the job become second nature. Also, you should enjoy constantly looking for shortcuts to make the jobs quicker and more efficient. Given the nature of interacting with new guests each week, having an outgoing personality is going to make your life much easier! You'll also need this to make friends around resort. As much as you love your team mates you'll probably want some time apart and having other friends is crucial.
