We are totally passionate about the dishes we create for our guests, and we give every course all the love and attention it deserves. You will know you've experienced a true luxury catered chalet holiday when you're telling all your friends about the cuisine rather than the skiing.
Your breakfast is laid out for you each morning. You can expect a large spread to start your day well. Bacon and eggs are available each day, along with porridge, and a hot special on selected mornings. In addition, there's fruit juices, teas and freshly ground coffee.
For an espresso here at Delicious Mountain we use a 100% Arabica single origin Sumatran coffee from Mandheling. These beans are handpicked, semi-washed and partly sundried. The remaining drying process continues as they move down the mountain to the port. This journey can take up to two weeks. This allows the beans to develop a chocolaty, spicy flavour.
For longer coffees we use a Monsooned Indian Cherry-AB robusta. During the Monsoon season the unwashed coffee beans are spread in layers around 6 inches thick to expose them to monsoon winds saturated with moisture. To prevent the beans from actually getting wet brick-floored warehouses with open walls on the coast of Western India are used. Processors rake the beans regularly so they absorb the moisture from the air evenly. The whole process takes around 14 weeks.
Each afternoon when you return to the chalet, you'll find our afternoon tea laid out to welcome you. New sweet and savoury delights made from scratch every day. Popular savoury options this year have been warm bacon rolls or a poached salmon and caper mayonnaise baguette. Our favourite sweet treats include millionaire's shortbread from our own cookbook, raspberry and passion fruit cupcakes with pink butter icing, and deliciously decadent Victoria sponge with vanilla mascarpone. It's why we're called Delicious Mountain. The canapes served by the fire. The three-course meal of the very finest quality. The hand-picked selection of choice French cheeses served with port. The bean-to-cup coffee from our top-spec coffee machine. Everything about the evening meal has been designed to inspire.
Our wines are lovingly selected to complement every dish we create. We have found that the best way to do this is to go direct to the growers and producers. Finding the very best vines for our cellar, we have visited the winegrowers in person, right there at their vineyards. Read more...
