Staff testimonial 1 Sam (2019-20)

"Delicious Mountain prides itself in delivering exceptional catered holidays, providing excellent customer care and satisfaction. Working for DM you are at the forefront of that. Nothing is too much trouble for the DM team, and the high standards can only be achieved by excellent teamwork. The team is small and each team member needs to be multi-skilled, flexible and possess a desire and drive to deliver the best. Expect a varied array of tasks each day. It's an exceptional experience and one I will not forget."

Staff testimonial 2 Dylan (2019-20)

"Working in the mountains had always been a dream of mine (I grew up in South Africa and had never seen snow) but Delicious Mountain exceeded all my expectations! What's not to love about working with those who share your passions. I was given an incredible opportunity to create some truly delicious food, but when I wasn't beavering away in the kitchen or polishing toilet taps, I was out carving up the mountain. Two days off is plenty of time to soak up the alpine atmosphere and I would highly recommend Copina in 1650 for lunch - wine and tapas!! I would recommend working for Delicious Mountain to anyone who has an equal passion for customer service and living that mountain life."

Delicious Mountain Team busy at work!

We asked our team members... What sort of person makes a good Delicious Mountain team member?

You need to enjoy having exceptional attention to detail, have an approachable friendly manner and take satisfaction from keeping everything in the chalet in order. Being a bit of a perfectionist will certainly help; standards are high whether it's with the food, organisation or with cleanliness - you should take great satisfaction from nailing all your duties and be able to laugh when the inevitable happens!

You also need to be good at "reading the guest" and establishing what kind of host they want you to be. Sometimes you need to be a gentle listener that is happy to show interest and have conversations about just about anything. On other occasions you'll need to adjust to being a quiet part of the background delivering excellent service and allowing the guests to relax in their surroundings... or maybe you'll need to be the life and soul helping mixed groups to feel at ease in one another's company.

Nevertheless, you should always be a happy positive person no matter what the weather: it keeps the guests, the team and yourself happy!

A structured and methodical approach to your workload in the early days will help you establish the routines that will make all parts of the job become second nature. Given the nature of interacting with new guests each week, having an outgoing personality is going to make your life much easier! You'll also need this to make friends around resort. As much as you love your teammates, you'll probably want some time apart and having other friends is crucial.
